One of my most popular patterns The Caribbean Ruana .. Turned a year old today 🙂 The Caribbean was a fun pattern to make. I loved the way Red Hearts Super Saver Ombre gradient colors made this pattern stand out with beautiful blending.
I had just found the New Ombre yarn whilst checking out a craft store I had not been too before. Was so excited to come up with a pattern that would show it off. The only disappointment I had was Ombre wasn’t as soft as I would have liked it… You can read more about Ombre and how to “soften” yarn in the Review Post.. Here
As most of us know.. You don’t have to use the same yarn for a pattern. So don’t box yourself in.. be bold. This brings me to the “New Model”…..
Comfy Cotton Blend Yarn by Lion Brand… Review
Whilst out and about looking for yarn to make another Caribbean for its Anniversary I stumbled across Lion Brand’s new Comfy Cotton Blend.. ( Insert Drool Emoji here) You can read more about it in my review. ( link above)
Once I started working with this yarn I knew immediately it needed it own pattern. Still wanting to honor the Caribbean … the Spring Fest Ruana was born 😉 This pattern will be available later this coming week. Still keeping the Ruana theme, the Spring Fest is a lighter, flowing ruana with a optional feature 😉 This pattern is simple, repetitive stitch and quick to work up. It requires 2 cakes of Comfy Cotton Blend and for the optional border I used I Love This Cotton ( Found at Hobby Lobby)
