“That’s Groovy” Lap Blanket

made w/ Lion Brand That 70s Yarn

This is a very easy to follow pattern for a 33 x 35 lap blanket.

Not sure if you can even call this a real pattern lol  Its a repetitive pattern using a basic stitch. This yarns texture can make the simplest of stitches look great. I chose to use a smaller hook but used large stitches as this yarn can get “heavy” with more compact stitches. The recommended hook however was allowing too much spacing which I wanted to avoid. I do not like my toes to “poke” out or get stuck in a blanket I snuggle in lol

So if your wanting to get a little more blanket size.. You may use the recommended larger hook.

Review of this yarn can be read.. HERE

What you will need..

8 skeins of That 70s Yarn.. Color of your preference. I used Steller.

15mm Hook .. for slightly larger blanket use recommended hook.. 19mm

Scissors and A Large Eyed Tapestry Needle

Abbreviations…

Ch. = Chain

SC = Single Crochet

DC = Double Crochet

Notes…

The Ch.2 does NOT count as 1st DC

I prefer to have a thicker edging around my blankets.. the CH.2 gives this thickness and helps retain the shape of blanket.

Gauge is not important

Pattern…

CH.52

Row 1.) DC in 2nd CH from hook, DC across

Row 2.) CH.2, DC across

Row 3 – 27.) Repeat Row 2

Row 28.) Ch.1, SC across
