A Chai Kinda Day.. Semi- Slouch Hat.. Free Pattern

Chai Kinda Day Free Pattern

My Daughter took me on a little small business yarn shop scavenge hunt. Whilst we were out she bought me a few hanks of Baby Alpaca/Merino blend hanks. I wanted to make something special with them but wasn’t sure what.. Til a couple weeks ago. We both recently went super short with our hair and just after we did … Good ole Mr. Winter decided to chill us off. We started saying how we now need hats, not only for the cold but for those days when you hair wont listen 😦 Not like we can put it up in a pony lol.

The Semi-Slouch hat has two “brim” options… A fold-able brim and a Button flap brim. Both options are included in this pattern.

The Yarn used is Cascade Yarn -Eco Duo Natural Undyed yarn. If you wish to use this type they do have a Store Finder.

What you will need..

1 Hank of Cascade Eco-Duo yarn ( or comparable.. see below)

6.5mm hook

Stitch Marker, Scissors & Tapestry Needle

If making Button Rim version you will need 1 button ( 1inch size)

**If using a different yarn**

Eco-Duo is a … #4 Medium, 100g/3.5 oz, 197yds/180meters. You can use any comparable yarn for this pattern.

Abbreviations…

MC = Magic Circle

SC = Single Crochet

DC = Double Crochet

HDC = Half Double Crochet

TR = Treble crochet

SC2TOG = SC 2 stitches together

SK = Skip stitch

( number) How many stitches at end of round

Notes…

This pattern is worked in the round. Place a SM in the first stitch of each round to mark your starting point.

When doing the TR -SC rows.. Make sure to push the TR toward you before doing the single crochet… this help set the “bubble” part of the stitch.
